In Punjab’s Fatehgarh Sahib, a Kalyugi son beat his own 70-year-old father to death to get the land in his name. In order to hide his crime, the accused son was quietly performing the last rites of the dead body in the crematorium. According to media reports, this incident is of Chunni Kalan station area located in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab. Former village sarpanch Gurdas Singh told the that the victim, Amar Singh, was his elder brother. He lived in the village with his family. Amar Singh often quarreled with his son Dharminder Singh for the land. He told that Dharminder Singh also used to fight with his father. When he went to collect milk on the evening of 21 November, the news of Amar Singh’s death had spread in the neighbourhood.

Villagers told that his son Dharminder Singh brutally beat his father to death in a land dispute. It was also told that he absconded with the dead body. On this he immediately informed the police. Police said that on receiving the information, the team reached the cremation ground, where the accused was performing the last rites of his father. The police took the dead body into custody by extinguishing the fire of the pyre. Police say that the dead body has been handed over to the relatives after the post-mortem.

DSP Bassi Pathana Amarpreet Singh told that the accused daughter had beaten her father to death. After this, he took the old man to the doctor, from where he was asked to take him to a big hospital in Mohali-Chandigarh. He told that the accused Dharminder did not do so and brought his father home in critical condition, where he died after some time. Had he been treated on time, his life could have been saved.
