Punjab: Drone conspiracy against India again, BSF killed in Amritsar

A new attempt was made in this episode. On Monday night, an attempt was made by Pakistan to send narcotics through a drone in village Bheni in Amritsar sector of Punjab. It was destroyed by the patrolling BSF personnel.

Amritsar BSF Commandant Ajay Kumar Mishra told that the 144 Corps personnel of BSF conducted an operation in BOP Rajatal area in which a drone has been shot down. Also, he said that 2 suspected packets of Heroin have also been seized with this drone. A search operation is being conducted in the entire area. At the same time, since May 19, BSF personnel have either destroyed about five drones or forced them to send them back to the Pakistani side. Around 4 kg of intoxicants have also been recovered from these drones.

Last year, from June 2022 to May 2023, drones have violated Indian airspace about 86 times. Out of these, about 45 drones have been shot down and 20-25 drones have been chased away from the Indian border. Anti-drone system has been used to crack down on drug smuggling. Punjab shares a 553 kilometer border with Pakistan. However, at present this system is working only up to a limited area. If a drone violates the Indian border from the Pakistani side, it comes under the purview of the anti-drone system. After this BSF and Punjab Police personnel come on alert mode. After which, by taking quick action, they are able to kill them.
