Giving information, BSF Punjab officials said that a Pakistani drone violated the Indian airspace and was shot down by the alert BSF personnel of Amritsar sector. During the search operation, a drone and a bag containing suspected narcotics were also found.

Big action in two days

Vigilant BSF personnel stopped three drones from entering the Indian border on Friday night, while the fourth drone was shot down on Saturday night. According to media reports, the first drone, a DJI Matrice 300 RTK was recovered from Dhariwal village in Amritsar district. Along with this, the soldiers of the Border Security Force had fired on it at around nine o’clock on Friday night and chased it away.

A similar drone was recovered from Ratan Khurd village in Amritsar district. It was seen near the Indian border at around 9.30 pm on Friday night. BSF jawans took action and fired on this. Subsequently, during the search operation, two packets of 2.6 kg heroin were recovered from the UAV found in Ratan Khurd village.

A third similar drone was foiled on Friday night itself. The drone had tried to enter the Indian border in Punjab. However, the soldiers of the Border Security Force, while taking a major action, fired on it, after which it went back to the Pakistani border. However, nothing could be recovered from it.
