Lok Sabha Election 2024: Shiromani Akali Dal Badal President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Friday announced Lok Sabha elections 2024 from Amritsar. During this, while he made a scathing attack on his former ally BJP, he also called CM Bhagwant Mann a drug dealer. Not only this, Badal urged the people of Punjab that if they want their own well-being, they should take advice from Muslims. He appealed to the public to make Shiromani Akali Dal victorious.
According to media reports, while addressing the Akali Dal rally at Guru Tegh Bahadur Stadium in Amritsar, Badal said that if Punjab is to be saved from ruin, then make the Shiromani Akali Dal victorious in the next year’s Lok Sabha elections. Taking a dig at CM Bhagwant Mann, he said, “The AAP government got the chair by cheating the people of Punjab. Bhagwant Mann became the Chief Minister of Punjab by making false allegations of drug smuggling against Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia. Not a single one of these allegations has been proved yet. Badal further said that look at the current situation in Punjab. As compared to the previous Congress government, drug addiction has increased 10 times more this time. Drug smuggling was completely curbed during the rule of Shiromani Akalar Dal. Describing Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his entire team as drug dealers, Badal said that a complainant had told about the sale of heroin at 66 government liquor vends in Ludhiana. But, neglecting this, Chief Minister Mann had again given contracts to the same contract owners.
Sikhs should also learn from Muslims: Badal
Apart from this, Shiromani Akali Dal chief Badal, while referring to the communal violence in Manipur, Haryana and other states, said that the BJP government at the Center is responsible for this. He claimed that Muslims, Christians and Sikhs will not vote for BJP in the upcoming parliamentary elections. He called upon the Akalis to draw lessons from past incidents. Also said that Babri Masjid was demolished during the BJP rule, Godhra incident took place. After these incidents, the Muslims did not vote for the BJP at all, irrespective of which party won. Sikhs should also learn from Muslims.
