Some Chief Ministers (CMs) of the opposition parties have tightened their attitude regarding this. Earlier West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee refused to attend the meeting. Now Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has also distanced himself from it. Mann said that the central government was putting hurdles in many public welfare schemes of Punjab and not much attention was being paid to the issue of farmers. In such a situation, he will not participate in this meeting.

According to media reports, apart from Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the convenor of AAP Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal will also not attend the NITI Aayog meeting. However, it is not yet clear whether apart from Bhagwant Mann, any representative from the state will also participate in the meeting.

Mamta Banerjee will also not be involved

According to media reports, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao (K. Chandrashekar Rao) and Congress-ruled state CM will also be absent in this meeting of NITI Aayog. Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee alleges that only speeches are made in this meeting and they are kept sitting for hours. Also, said that the opportunity to speak is also not given.

PM Modi will chair the meeting of NITI Aayog

PM Narendra Modi will chair the 8th meeting of NITI Aayog on 27 May. In this meeting, issues like health, skill development, women empowerment and infrastructure development etc. will be discussed so that India can be made a developed country by 2047. Chief Ministers of all states, Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories and Union Ministers have also been participating in the meetings of NITI Aayog.
