Three doctors resign from BMHRC, heart patients will not get treatment from March

Bhopal. The process of resignation of doctors in Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Center (BMHRC), which started to provide better treatment to gas victims, is not stopping. On Tuesday, two Consultants of the Cardiology Department, Dr. Ayush Jain and Dr. Ashish, have submitted their resignations. Both the doctors have handed over one month’s notice to Director Dr. Prabha Desikan on Tuesday. Earlier, cardiac surgeon Dr. Sanjeev Gupta had also resigned. There is not even a single consultant in the important departments of the hospital. After a month, the cardiology department will be completely closed. This department will run in name only. Due to this, the patients coming to the hospital for treatment of heart related diseases will also have to go to other hospitals. At the same time, the hospital management, which is suffering from the shortage of doctors, is claiming to have proper arrangements for treatment in the institute.

– Not a single consultant

Every day around 180 patients were coming for treatment in the Cardiology Department. This department is now on the verge of complete closure due to one doctor leaving the job. Last year, cardiologist Dr. Vivek Tripathi left the job and joined at another place. Eye surgeon Dr. Vinay Kumar had also resigned. Since then the eye surgery department is closed.

That’s why doctors are leaving the job

Permanent recruitment of Consultants in BMHRC is closed for almost six years. Earlier recruitment could not be done due to non-availability of recruitment rules. A year and a half ago, the Union Health Ministry made recruitment rules, but recruitment is not being done continuously. The recruitment process was started only once for the recruitment of 20 posts, but only one consultant was appointed under it.
