Bhopal. The construction work of the under-construction 26.50 kilometer rail line trebling section between Barkheda and Budni of Bhopal division is in progress. The infrastructure work for construction of new third line between Barkheda-Budni is a supercritical project, which will remove the speed bottleneck in Bhopal-Itarsi section. Out of the works for construction of third line on Bhopal-Itarsi section, Ranikamlapati-Barkheda 41.42 km, was commissioned in January-2021. Budni- Itarsi 25 kms. Commissioned in Mar-2020. Both these blocks come in the plains.
The work of trebling the Barkheda-Budni 26.50 km rail line is almost complete. Soon the speed of trains will be increased on this section. Due to which the passengers will be able to take more time in the journey than before. All 13 major bridges, all 49 minor bridges and all 7 tunnels of this section have been completed. Blast less track work has been completed in 4 tunnels and work is in progress in 3 tunnels. The work of adding track is going on and 11 km has been completed. It is noteworthy that the capacity utilization of this section is 170 percent. West Central Railway will become the first zone to complete work on GT route of this railway section after completion of construction work of 233 km third line from Bina to Itarsi on Bina-Bhopal-Itarsi section of West Central Railway.
Strict conditions of Wild Life Board were followed
Due to this Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary, the strict conditions of Wildlife Board have been followed in the construction. This area comes under eco-sensitive zone, so the construction work here is being done very seriously so that the balance of wildlife is maintained. The third line has been designed for 25 tonne loading standards and a speed capability of 85 kmph. Thirteen major bridges with girder and 49 minor bridges of various sizes have been constructed. 30 m wide overpass with ramp providing gradient of 1.12 is under construction in Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary area. These overpasses will provide safe pass to the wild animals to cross the railway track.
