Bhopal. From the end of May, the journey will become easier for the passengers starting their rail journey through Bhopal Railway Station. There will be ease of entry and exit at the station. This facility will be due to the increased facility in the new building of the station like Rani Kamlapati station. The work of the new building has been completed. Also connected with air concourse and traveller. Now only the footover bridge is left to be connected to the ‘FOB’. Passengers will be able to get this gift as soon as it is connected. It is notable that this building is being constructed for the last four years. In which passenger facilities are being expanded. This building is being constructed under the plan to redevelop Bhopal station. Prior to this, a three-storey building has been constructed on platform-six, in which ticket counter etc. facilities have started.
The new building will be expanded towards the Bina end
The new building being constructed on platform-one side will be expanded. This work will be done in three different phases. These buildings will be constructed towards the Bina end of Bhopal station. Right now there are old railway offices on this side which are adjacent to the platform. They will be demolished and new ones will be built.
Passengers will be comfortable
The new buildings will have modern waiting rooms, restaurants, food plazas, multi-use stalls. There will be big size LED screens for the passengers which will serve as information. The security of passengers will be made more easy. The inquiry center will be expanded according to the need. Efforts will be made to make the seating arrangement easier. Right now most of the passengers sit on the platforms and wait for the trains. After the construction of new buildings for these passengers, steel chairs will be installed inside them.
2250 passengers will be able to sit
A mini air concourse has been built on the first floor of the new building. In which about 2250 passengers will have the facility to sit together. On the lines of Rani Kamlapati station, there will be facility of gaming zone including retiring rooms and cafeteria for the passengers waiting for the train.
