The state government can set afresh the maintenance allowance of suspended officers and employees, this is the preparation of the government

Bhopal. The Government of Madhya Pradesh is going to determine afresh the subsistence allowance of the suspended staff officers in Madhya Pradesh. Under this, the rule of 75 percent salary will be abolished after three months of suspension, for this the subsistence allowance will be amended. It is reported that the General Administration Department has started preparations regarding this and has prepared a draft, which will be placed in the cabinet soon.

Government is brainstorming

The Government is also brainstorming on the provisions of other states for amendment by the General Administration Department. Under this, the state government is also preparing to abolish the provision of 75 percent of the salary after the three-month period of suspension. Separately, a revised draft is being prepared for pending cases of corruption, including employees and officers caught red-handed in bribery, disproportionate assets. Soon it will be approved by bringing it in the cabinet.

Currently this rule

Till now in Madhya Pradesh, if any government employee or officer is suspended for any reason, then for the first 3 months, he is given 50 percent of his salary as subsistence allowance and after that 75 percent of his salary is given. The reason for this is that the process of departmental inquiry should be completed within 3 months of suspending any employee after giving the charge sheet. If this does not happen, then the fault of the negligence of the government cannot be given to the suspended employee, so he is given 75 percent subsistence allowance after 3 months and if the charge sheet could not be given to the suspended employee within the prescribed period, then the rules for ending his suspension Is. Now these rules are being revised.

Employees union wrote a letter

1. In fact, last month, the Third Class Employees Union had written a letter to the Chief Secretary along with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan regarding the abolition of subsistence allowance of officers and employees involved in corruption.

2. It was said in this letter that action should be taken against such officers and employees in the state on whom cases of corruption are registered, as well as half the salary and allowances given to them should be stopped, so that such officers and employees are not redressed. By stopping the subsistence allowance, corruption will be curbed and there will be purity in governance.

3. Since government servants involved in corruption get property worth crores of rupees after registering a case by EOW, Lokayukta and taking action, after which they are suspended. After the suspension, there is a provision to increase the subsistence allowance to 50% of the salary for 3 months and 75% after 3 months. After this, instructions were issued from the Chief Minister’s Office to the General Administration Department for action in this regard.
