Bhopal. It will now be easier to find out the mysteries of death in controversial or suspicious cases. State’s most modern mortuary has been started in AIIMS Bhopal. In this machurri where the post mortem of dead bodies can be done in a better way. There will also be facility for X-ray of dead bodies and online post-mortem. The biggest feature of the mortuary is that during the post mortem of infected dead bodies, the fear of infection to the doctor and other staff will be negligible. According to the AIIMS management, three state-of-the-art ventilated autopsy tables and a desexing bench have been installed in the mortuary. This table will absorb the infection coming out of the dead bodies and take it out of the morgue. This is the first time in the state that this type of table is being used in Machhurri.
Gas and liquid infection will go away
Medical expert of AIIMS, Dr. Raghavendra Bidua told that during autopsy various types of infections can occur from dead bodies. Old decaying corpses contain many toxic gases and liquids that can seriously infect the specialist during autopsy. These special tables have ventilation and drainage. Due to this, the gas and liquid coming out of the dead bodies are removed from the mortuary.
Digital X starts, CT scan will also come
Here the facility of digital X-ray of the dead body has been started before the autopsy. If a person has died due to bullet injury and the bullet is not visible, then the bullet will be detected by X-ray in the mochurri itself. Along with this, which bone is broken and how much it will also be known in advance. Not only this, soon the facility of CT scan of dead bodies will also start here.
Post mortem facility will increase
With the start of the new mortuary, the number of postmortems will increase here. At present only two to three post mortems can be done in a day due to having one table here. Now four postmortems can be done here simultaneously, while more than 15 postmortems can be done in a day. It is known that 18 to 20 post mortems are done daily in Philhan Hamidia Hospital.

– At present postmortem is done from four police stations, now this number will increase – CCTV cameras will be installed, PM can be seen live. This system will prove beneficial in legal matters.
Toxicology lab will start soon to detect poison in death cases – Microscopic, histo pathological and microbiological post mortem will be done.
