Recruitment scam in MP: This case of irregularities in government appointments has come to light in Panna district of Madhya Pradesh. Last year, on 14th and 15th December, 13 outsourced employees were recruited in Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam Limited Project Implementation Unit, Panna, but questions are being raised on its appointment process. After receiving the complaint at the local level, the General Manager has expressed his objection by writing a letter to the Nodal Officer of Sedmap.
Local people told that interviews of employees were to be conducted on the basis of applications received in Jal Nigam. Selection was to be done only after the interview. The nodal officer of Sedmap had fixed the date of 14-15 December for this process of appointment, but Sedmap officials did not reach Panna on this date and directly gave the appointment letters.
Complaint of taking bribe of Rs 30 thousand
The General Manager of Jal Nigam Project Panna had issued a letter on December 19 expressing objection to the SEDMAP. It is also written that no representative of Sedmap was present on the date fixed for the interview. An applicant has also complained about taking a bribe of Rs 30 thousand. It was also written that in future, only the responsible employee of the office should send the list of candidates along with the appropriate medium for interview and analyze the said complaint seriously. The General Manager has also sent a copy of the said complaint letter to the Project Director, Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam Limited, Bhopal.
NGO director was arrested
This is not the first case of recruitment fraud in Jal Nigam. Even a year ago, there were irregularities on a large scale. Then it came to light that appointment letters were being distributed for Rs 10,000 each. Sagar police had also arrested the accused of fraud. 4-5 people had lodged a complaint of forgery with Sagar police. He had expressed suspicion of fraud by 12 people. In this, the name of NGO director Bhupendra Namdev had come up.
