Pickpocket ran away after stealing mobile from ASI’s pocket by jumping from moving city bus

Bhopal. The incidents of pickpocketing in BCLL buses plying in the capital are not taking the name of stopping. Pickpockets stole mobile from the pocket of ASI going to PHQ from railway station on Wednesday afternoon. When the ASI realized the theft, the pickpocket along with his accomplice escaped by jumping from the moving bus. While the ASI caught a fellow pickpocket and handed him over to the police. Jahangirabad police has registered a case of theft against the pickpocket on the report of ASI. Efforts are being made to arrest the absconding accused.

According to the police, Ashish Jain (32) is a resident of Thathipur, Gwalior. He is ASI in District Police Force Gwalior. On Wednesday, Ashish had come to Bhopal with his friend Satyapal Singh Jadaun for official work. Both the men boarded a low floor bus from the railway station to the police headquarters. At around quarter to three in the afternoon, the bus reached in front of DMart in Jahangirabad, when Ashish felt that someone had taken something out of his pocket. When he checked the pocket, the mobile phone was missing. At the same time, he saw that three boys standing nearby started jumping from the moving bus. At this, they caught hold of a boy, while two of his accomplices escaped by jumping from the bus. One of the boys who jumped had his mobile in his hand. Ashish got the bus stopped on the side and got down with the boy who was caught. In interrogation, the boy told his Yusuf. He told Ashish that his partner Sohail had taken out the mobile from his pocket and given it to another partner Arun. After that Ashish took him to the Jahangirabad police station and lodged a report of mobile theft. The police have started searching for his absconding companions after taking Yusuf into custody.
