Bhopal.The Transport Department has implemented new rates of fine for those who break the rules while driving. Its notification has been issued on March 6. Now a fine of Rs 500 will have to be paid for driving a car without a seat belt. At the same time, a fine of Rs 300 will have to be paid for not wearing a helmet on the bike. For negligent driving, a fine of Rs 5,000 will have to be paid.

On repeating this offence, a fine of Rs 10,000 will have to be paid. The Transport Department has empowered 20 officers to issue fines. Including Inspector, Sub-Inspector, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Traffic Police. Superintendent of Police, Additional Superintendent of Police, Deputy Superintendent of Police have also been empowered. The officers of the Transport Department will also have powers.

Aim to reduce road accidents

In order to reduce road accidents in the state, the amount of fine imposed on vehicles was revised. The notification has been issued after the proposal for fine was passed in the cabinet. Different amounts have been prescribed for different offences.

Now this will be the amount of fine

Rs 200 fine per passenger for overloading in a passenger vehicle.

Rs 10,000 fine for blocking the way of an ambulance or emergency vehicle.

1000 for driving a non-transport vehicle without a license and Rs. 5000 for a transport vehicle.

– A fine of five thousand rupees for driving a transport vehicle by an unauthorized person and one thousand rupees for a non-transport vehicle.

Fine of one thousand rupees and three thousand rupees on transport vehicle for driving a non-transport vehicle in excess of the prescribed speed limit.

– A fine of one thousand rupees and five thousand rupees on a transport vehicle for not having a pollution control certificate on a non-transport vehicle.

– One thousand rupees for unnecessarily honking in the restricted area and two thousand rupees for breaking the rule again.

Rs 10,000 fine for causing damage to roads by overloading.
