Bhopal. English teachers come to school drunk and beat us up without any reason. The students of Navodaya Vidyalaya made this allegation against the teacher. Fed up with this arbitrary attitude of the teacher, the students locked themselves in the room for six hours. On receiving information, Amarwada SDM Hemkaran Dhurve reached and somehow pacified the matter. The matter pertains to Navodaya Vidyalaya of Singodi in Chhindwara district.
Persuaded a lot but students did not agree
70 to 80 students of classes 9 and 11 live in Senior Udayagiri Building of Singodi. On Friday morning at 6:45 am the children were to participate in Surya Namaskar on the occasion of Youth Day. The children did not reach the field till 7 o’clock. On this the staff went to call them. It was found that the children had locked the room from inside. When asked to open the latch, the children refused. This information was given to Principal Vidya Sharan Joshi. After this the entire staff reached there. The principal tried to convince the children a lot, but they did not agree.
After the explanation of SDM and SDOP, the children opened the latch.
The students told that English teacher Sarvendra Meshram beats them unnecessarily. Come to school and class drunk. The children remained adamant on the demand of calling Collector-in-charge Partha Jaiswal. Police were also informed. Singodi outpost in-charge Dharmendra Kushram reached. He also tried to explain but the children refused. On information, at 11:30 am, Amarwada SDM Hemkaran Dhurve and SDOP Ravindra Mishra also reached the school. He explained to the children, then went somewhere around 1 o’clock and the children agreed. After this he opened the latch of the door and came out.
The children have tried to divert the matter
The principal of Navodaya School has said that as per the school guidelines, mobile phones are banned in the school. Four days ago, three students of the school were caught using mobile phones. The mobile was confiscated from him. Indiscipline action was to be taken against him. Perhaps the children have tried to divert the matter. Indiscipline will not be tolerated in the school.
