Bhopal.The selection process for admission in MP Natya Vidyalaya for the session 2023-2024 was held at Rabindra Bhavan from 23 to 28 May. In this workshop, 240 young artists from different states of the country displayed their art before the selection committee. Out of 240 young artists, around 90 candidates will be shortlisted for the final round. This process is being completed on Tuesday, May 30. The final selection workshop is to be organized from June 20 to 24 in Bhopal itself.

Madhya Pradesh Natya Vidyalaya director Tikam Joshi said that call letters were sent to all the artistes selected for the audition. The artistes were from West Bengal, Gujarat, Haryana, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Uttarakhand to attend the selection process in MP Natya Vidyalaya. Some participants also came from Nepal. During this the dramatic skills of the candidates were tested. Also to know the level of their awareness about their culture, language and folk arts. They were asked about the basic knowledge of theater and some acts were made.
Diploma will now be of two years
Till now the school was running a one-year diploma course, in which 26 seats were being given to participants from all over the country. Now two years PG Diploma in Dramatic Art course is being started in Drama School from this year. The seat count, however, remains the same at 26. The degree will be awarded by the Raja Mansingh Tomar Arts University, Gwalior and the course content will be broadly on the lines of the MA (Theatre) course run by the university.
