Bhopal. Eye donation is a boon to remain immortal even after death. Even after death your eyes can see the world. Everyone should take a pledge to donate eyes after death. Every year 1.25 lakh people in the country need eyes, but only 25 thousand eyes are available. In such a situation, everyone should donate eyes. This was said by Dr. Kavita Kumar, HOD of Ophthalmology Department of Gandhi Medical College. She was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 38th National Eye Donation Fortnight.

He said that eye donation can bring light into the lives of millions of people. GMC Dean Dr. Salil Bhargava, respected members of Rotary Club, Lions Club, Kiran Foundation, Prerna Seva Trust and Bhopal Organ Donation Society were present in the program.

1109 people took pledge to donate eyes

During the fortnight, the college made people aware about eye donation through street plays, slogans and poster competitions. During this period, 1109 people pledged to donate their eyes and filled the form. All the social organizations of the city pledged to work with Gandhi Medical College for eye donation.

Negligence in Hamidia Hospital, instructions to health department for investigation

M.P. Human Rights Commission has taken cognizance in four cases of Bhopal. The first case is of a serious negligence in the Gynecology Department of Hamidia Hospital. A newborn died during treatment here. The family took the dead body home. The very next day after her last rites were performed, the father of the dead newborn received a call from Hamidia Hospital that your baby girl is hungry. Why is no one coming to feed milk? Due to this the family got into a dilemma and reached Hamidia Hospital. The hospital people said that your file has been closed. The crying family members reached the police station from Hamidia Hospital and lodged a complaint. The grandmother of the deceased girl has demanded the CM to investigate the matter. Taking cognizance of the matter, the Commission has sought a reply within 1 month from the Director, Health Services Directorate, Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal regarding the action taken after investigating the matter.
