Employees are sitting on dharna with their family members
Around 32,000 employees from all over the state gathered with their families and are on hunger strike at Neelam Park in Jahangirabad of the capital. All these contractual health workers are on indefinite strike under the National Health Mission. The contract workers, who were on strike for their demands, had announced on May 6 itself that if the state government did not consider their demands, then all the employees along with their family members would go on strike. Many women employees have also joined the strike with their small children. In the scorching heat, the contract workers are sitting on a dharna without eating or drinking anything. The contract workers sitting on strike had also planned to gherao the Chief Minister’s residence, which has been postponed for the time being.
