Bhopal. The economy of Maldives is mainly based on tourism and fishing. For this reason Maldives is making war footing efforts to save its heritage sites. These things were told by Aishath Munija, project manager of Maldives’ Friday Mosque Conservation Project, during her presentation at UNESCO’s Sub-Regional Conference on Tuesday. Munija told that the work of saving two thousand islands and 200 mythological buildings of Maldives is going on, so that better places can be provided for tourists to visit. On the last day of the conference, Aga Khan of Pakistan’s Culture Department also joined virtually. He gave information about the buildings of Pakistan and their conservation. Explain that it is very important for Pakistan, which is suffering from terrorism, to preserve its heritage, so that the coming generations can know the history of Pakistan.

Presentation on Orchha and Gwalior also took place:
On this occasion, Juni Han, Chief of Culture, UNESCO, New Delhi gave her presentation on the conservation of heritage sites located in Gwalior and Orchha of Madhya Pradesh. Along with him, Dr. Nishant Upadhyay also shared his information on both the sites. Dr. Ashish Trambadia gave his presentation on the historical buildings of Ahmedabad.

Heritage walk organized in the morning:
Heritage Walk was also organized on Tuesday itself at 6.30 am for more than 50 representatives of various institutions including different countries. In the Heritage Walk, which started from Kamla Park in Bhopal, the delegates were informed about the history of 1100-year-old Rajbhoj Setu, Gauhar Mahal, and Iqbal Maidan built on Bade Talab. Guide Ajay Singh also gave detailed information related to Sadar Manzil and its protection to the delegation. After the heritage walk which lasted for two and a half hours, the delegates started preparing for the sub-regional conference.
