Experts will tell whether BRTS is useful or should be removed, municipal council handed over letter to commissioner

Bhopal. In the capital of Madhya Pradesh, the 24 km long BRTS has reduced to 12 km. At the same time, the railing of the 4 kilometer long BRTS was broken or a large part of it was stolen. Bhopal Municipal Council has written a letter to the commissioner regarding its usefulness or whether it should be removed now, asking him to submit a report to the council within a month after knowing the opinion of the experts in this regard.

no decision without research

According to Municipal Council President Kishan Suryavanshi, it is true that about 70 percent people of Bhopal are not liking BRTS now, but a decision cannot be taken on this without any research. That’s why it is necessary that any decision should be taken in this regard only after knowing the views of the traffic experts. By the way, from time to time, many traffic experts have called BRTS useless in their opinion. Among them, especially professors of MANIT, traffic police officers, many former administrative officers have also had the same views. That’s why the commissioner has been asked to find out about the utility of BRTS. It is expected that next month the commissioner will submit the report and after that the report will be prepared on how to remove it.

Issue raised in council meeting

The issue of removal of BRTS was raised in the budget meeting of Bhopal Municipal Council held on Tuesday. In this, Councilor Pappu Vilas Rao Ghadge had said that the BRTS corridor remains empty and there is traffic jam on the side roads. That’s why BRTS is no longer useful. Because more than half of the corridor has been removed due to flyover, metro and other reasons. Council approved this proposal of Councilor Pappu Vilas Rao Ghadge for consideration and handed over the letter to the commissioner to research it.
