DA HIKE: Good news for 12 lakh employees of Madhya Pradesh, DA will soon be equal to that of the Centre.

7th pay commission latest news: Madhya Pradesh government is soon going to give good news to 7.50 lakh employees and 4.5 lakh pensioners of the state. Mohan Yadav government has made preparations to increase the dearness allowance (DA) of employees from 7% to 8% in the Vote and Account (Vote on Account) coming in February. Approval is yet to be given to increase the dearness allowance of employees and pensioners by 14 percent by March 2025.

After which DA will reach 56%. Also, there is a proposal to increase the salary of contract workers by 8%. Rs 6 thousand crore for both in the financial year 2024-25. Additional arrangements are being made.

Currently, employees are getting 4% less DA from the Centre.
At present, 7.50 lakh employees of Madhya Pradesh are getting 42% DA, which is 4% less than the 46% given to central employees. To approve this increase, the Finance Department has prepared a proposal, which has to be approved by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Meanwhile, there is again a proposal to increase the DA of central employees by 4% from January 1, on which the Center will announce soon. This payment will be completed before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections i.e. April.

Payment of 4% DA is also pending from July 1, 2023.
Let us tell you that due to the assembly elections, the code of conduct came into effect in the state in October, due to which the payment of 4% DA pending from July 1, 2023 could not be made. This will cost the government Rs 160 crore every month. Additional expenditure will increase. If the arrears of this increased DA are paid, it will cost Rs 1280 crore. At present this amount has not been included in the vote and account. The basic information for the Vote on Account in February is based on the income between April 1, 2023 and November 30, 2023. Which will be spent from 1st April to 31st July.

2 other decisions: Retired electricity workers will also get increment
In the Dr. Mohan Yadav government, a provision has also been made for additional expenditure of Rs 225 crore on the offices of ministers and officers and petrol. This expenditure has been increased by 10 percent out of Rs 1874 crore in the 2023-24 financial year.
2) The Gwalior Bench of the High Court gave big relief to four employees of the electricity company who were to retire on June 30. The court has said that the benefit of increment on July 1 should also be given to those retiring on June 30 and PPO should be issued again with improvement in pension within 3 months.
