Bhopal. Development works up to Rs 10 lakh will now be done by the Municipal Corporation through off-line tenders, because the quality is ignored due to online tenders coming at 30 per cent lower rates. In case of off-line tender, full responsibility will be of the Ward Councillor. During the budget, the proposal to get the development work done in the ward up to 5 lakhs through offline tender was brought by Ward 34 Councilor Pappu Vilas Rao Ghadge, which was approved by the Council President and increased the amount from 5 lakhs to 10 lakhs.
Offline tender will be possible for these works
According to Municipal Corporation President Kishan Suryavanshi, the process of off-tender up to Rs 10 lakh will include works like roads, footpaths, drains, security walls of drains, sewage chamber, water pipeline. According to Suryavanshi, complaints keep coming in Bhopal about bad asphalting of roads, concrete without cement and many other similar works. To remove this complaint, the proposal to start offline tender process was approved. It was also supported by the councilors of all the 85 wards.
