Bhopal. Municipal Corporation Bhopal had set a target of 500 crores for the current financial year and on the last day it made full efforts for this, but 15 crores were deposited in property tax and other items. Although the amount of some other items including building permission branch has not been added to it, but it is believed that after adding this amount, this figure can reach 500 crores. In this, the tax imposed on some government buildings and the amount of 15 crores received from the smart city could not be added. In such a situation, it is believed that the recovery of the corporation will reach the figure of 500 crores by combining all these. According to information received from the Municipal Corporation, a record revenue of Rs 475 crore was collected till 8 pm on March 31. Till a day before this, the corporation’s revenue figure was at 460 crores and on the last day it needed an amount of 40 crores for the fixed target. An amount of 15 crores has been deposited in the corporation’s account on the last day. The recovery work continued till late night.
Offices that opened early in the morning were closed late at night:
On the other hand, on the last day of the last financial year 2022-23, the employees of the corporation reached the ward and zone office early in the morning. During this, information was given about other items, including 50 percent to be received in property tax this year, from encouraging people to call and deposit tax. In many offices work continued till after 8 pm.
Corporation offices will remain closed for three consecutive days:
The employees working continuously in the Ward and Zone offices did not get leave even during the holidays, but with the conclusion of the last session, the employees have heaved a sigh of relief. Now the corporation offices will remain completely closed for three days i.e. till Monday. This will give the employees an opportunity to spend time with their families.
Corporation will not take check from next session:
From the next session, the corporation has announced to stop the system of taking payment through cheque. Now in the new financial year 2023-24, the system of taking payment by check has ended. Although it may be opposed because the electricity company had also stopped taking payments through checks on this pattern, but later this system had to be restarted due to people’s protest.
