The patients had to face difficulties since the doctors went on strike since morning itself. OPD and IPD were kept closed due to government doctors going on strike. Apart from Bhopal, the doctors of government hospitals went on strike and the hospitals attached to the medical colleges of Gwalior, Jabalpur and Rewa were affected. Due to the closure of OPD in Government Hamidia and Jai Prakash Hospitals of capital Bhopal, the patients and their accompanying relatives had to face a lot of problems. At the same time, it has also been said by the doctors that if their demands are not heeded by the government, then this strike of doctors will continue for an indefinite period.

Doctors can go on indefinite strike

In Madhya Pradesh, the movement was started a day before by the doctors of Medical Education Department, Health Department and Bhopal Gas Tragedy Relief and Rehabilitation Department under the leadership of Madhya Pradesh Government Autonomous Doctors Federation. Even before the beginning of the movement, the doctors had worked by tying a black band in protest against the government policies. On Tuesday, the doctors of the government hospitals of the state continued the strike by stopping work till 2 pm. The doctors demand that time-bound promotion and administrative interference in the technical matters of the medical departments should be ended. A token strike has been observed for two days regarding the demands. Government doctors may go on an indefinite strike from Wednesday if the matter is not discussed till evening.
