Bhopal news: Grain traders strike postponed, auction work will continue

Bhopal Grain Merchant and Oil Seeds Association, an association of grain traders, had announced a strike on May 4, which has now been postponed. The work of auction of agricultural produce will continue in the grain market due to non-strike by the traders. In Anaj Mandi, due to falling of boundary wall from place to place, incidents of theft were happening continuously for the last several days, due to which the traders association had announced a strike on May 4. After the meeting of police and traders in the matter, the traders union has decided to postpone the strike.

A meeting was held between the station in-charge, market secretary and traders

Association President Harish Gyanchandani and spokesperson Sanjeev Jain told that a high-level meeting was held with the market administration and Nishatpura police station in-charge of traders in the grain yard of Karond-based Pandit Lakshminarayan Krishi Upaj Mandi. Nishatpura Thanaprabhari and other police department officers were also present in the meeting. On this occasion, the station in-charge said that the people who have committed the theft will soon be arrested and concrete action will be taken against them. On this occasion, the policemen toured the entire market closely and instructions were given to close the leakage points which were seen on the spot. Instructions were given by Nishatpura police station to make Mandi an essential point. Mandi Secretary said that instructions have been issued to stop the movement of residents around the boundary who enter the mandi by making a pit by JCB. Along with this, the number of guards was increased in the Mandi premises. Due to positive efforts after the meeting, the mandi traders have postponed the mandi bandh of May 4.
