AIIMS Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal completed the first successful drone test on Tuesday. This will help in providing medical aid to remote areas as soon as possible. In the first trial, life-saving medicines were delivered from AIIMS Bhopal to Gauharganj PHC in just 20 minutes through drones.
This drone was flown under the leadership of Professor Dr. Ajay Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS. After this, this drone also brought the patient’s blood sample from there. The professor said that AIIMS will start this facility to provide easy and quick medical aid to the tribal population. Its objective is to provide health services to as many people as possible.
Director did monitoring
The drone took off from AIIMS Bhopal around 12:30 pm on Tuesday. After this, it returned to AIIMS from Gauharganj PHC at around 1:45. This entire process was monitored by Professor Dr. Ajay Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal. They were continuously tracking the drone through GPS location through laptop.
Can cover distance of 100 in one go
The team operating the drone said that this drone can cover a distance of 100 km at a time. Also it can reach speed up to 120 km. In AIIMS, special staff has been kept to load and remove medical items in this drone. Which includes drone didi and pilot. This drone or unmanned aerial vehicle can be used for package delivery.
AIIMS Bhopal first institute
AIIMS Bhopal will be the only institute to start this new facility in the state. This will help in developing the medical supply chain.
