A gang caught cheating elderly women by showing fake bags

Bhopal. The Hanumanganj police have arrested three accused and a minor while busting a gang that cheated women of jewelry by handing over fake bundles of notes. After a lot of effort, the police reached Gandhi Nagar after preparing a route map from the CCTV footage involved in the incident. During this, one of the accused was caught from the house in Gandhi Nagar Nai Basti, while his brother-in-law and his accomplice were arrested from Obaidullaganj main road. The police has also arrested a minor in the said case. The police team will soon go to Delhi. Actually, the accused had sold the jewelery involved in the fraud to a businessman in Delhi.

Sub-Inspector Rajendra Singh Solanki told that two incidents of cheating of jewelery by showing fake bundles of notes to elderly women had taken place in the area. After the incident, station in-charge Mahendra Singh Thakur formed the team and gave instructions to arrest the accused. The team viewed the CCTV footage of the spot and prepared a route map based on the footage. After preparing the route map, the police team reached Gandhi Nagar Nai Basti and showed the footage to some people there. From the footage, people identified the accused Ramesh Silavat and told the address of his slum. When the police team reached Ramesh Silavat’s father Ranchhod Silavat (40) slum number-703 Nai Basti, Ramesh Silavat was found sleeping. When the police interrogated him, he first misled, but later told that he had committed the crime along with his brother-in-law Dhaniram Solanki alias Suraj JJ Colony Delhi and Rahul Solanki JJ Colony Delhi. The police have disclosed two incidents from the accused in Hanumanganj, while another incident in Bairagarh is being interrogated.

Accused caught while returning from Hoshangabad to Bhopal

When Ramesh Silavat was questioned about the accused, he told that Dhaniram and Rahul had gone to Hoshangabad and were returning from there by bus. The police team kept two policemen sitting at Ramesh’s house and got everyone’s mobiles switched off so that he could not inform the accused about the incident. After this the team reached Obaidullaganj and started checking the buses. Four buses coming from Hoshangabad were stopped, but the accused were not found. On stopping the fifth bus, the accused were found and the police nabbed them. Sub-inspector Rajendra Solanki, sub-inspector Arvind Jat, head constable Praveen Singh Thakur, head constable 36 Sunil Tiwari, constable Akash Srivastava played an important role in preparing a routemap and reaching the accused.
