Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla is on Delhi tour. He has been admitted to Kailash Hospital in Noida after complaining of sudden chest pain. According to media reports, 70-year-old Shukla was admitted to Kailash Hospital in the middle of the night.

This is Shiv Pratap Shukla’s first visit to Delhi after taking over as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh. Shiv Pratap Shukla was appointed as the 29th Governor of Himachal Pradesh. Shukla is a resident of Rudrapur in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Shukla has also held the post of MLA four times, Union Minister three times and member of Rajya Sabha.
He started his political career with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. Shiv Pratap Shukla also had to go to jail during the 1975 Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi. After this he was released after 18 months in 1977.
