Yamunanagar: An old woman from Budhi Village in Bilaspur Block accused her in-laws of killing her husband over a land dispute. The woman claims she went to her maternal home, the in-laws murdered her husband and cremated him without informing him. After investigating the matter, police instituted and registered a case against half a dozen defendants for murder. On the other hand, on Friday, police took samples of the deceased’s bones and sent them to the laboratory in Chandigarh for examination.

Geeta, an old resident of the village, said that her maternal uncle was in Saran village. About two years ago she was married to Sandeep Kumar, a resident of Budhi village. Her husband Sandeep Kumar had a land dispute with his brother Vijay Kumar, father Karnail Singh, brother Rajat Kumar, Rajat’s wife Anjali and Vijay’s wife Sangeeta, and his mother Asha. The woman said her husband Sandeep Kumar left her in her home village of Saran on May 16. The next day, she received a phone call that her husband, Sandeep Kumar, had died. When she reached her in-laws’ house with her parents, she learned that the accused had cremated her husband before they arrived. Geeta claimed the defendant killed her husband over a land dispute. He informed the police of the matter. After investigating the matter, the police began registering cases against all the accused.

What does the investigating officer say?

Jagdish Chandra, chief of the Bilaspur Police Station, says a murder case has been registered against the defendant based on the complaint. Samples of the deceased’s bones were sent to the Chandigarh laboratory for examination. The reasons for the murder will not be known until the report is in.
