Yamunanagar: On the pretext of sending Sukhwinder Singh, a resident of Uncha Chandna village in Thana Chappar area, to New Zealand, father and son cheated Rs 4 lakh 75,000. The allegation was made against Vikramjit Singh and his father Lakhwinder Singh, residents of Amritsar, Punjab. The Thana Chappar police have launched an investigation and lodged a case against both the accused for cheating.
According to the information, Sukhwinder Singh, a resident of Uncha Chandna, said that he wanted to go abroad to find a job after completing his studies. During this time he learned that Vikramjit Singh, who lives in Amritsar, is working on sending people abroad. He also wanted to go abroad. That’s why I spoke to the defendant about it. The accused spoke of sending him to New Zealand and asked for five lakh rupees. On November 3, 2022, upon hearing the defendant’s words, he transferred 50,000 rupees to his account and handed over the documents. The accused then stole two lakh rupees in cash. After three months, he charged 1.25 lakh rupees for medical treatment. This money was deposited into his account online.
The defendant started talking about getting a visa soon. The accused took away Rs 1.5 million from him. Even after a long time, the defendant did not receive his visa. Dismayed, he started evading when he asked the accused Vikramjeet to return the money. The accused threatened him that his father Lakhwinder Singh was in the police and he would implicate him in a false case. The defendant refused to hand over his money. Dismayed, she filed a complaint against the defendant. The police have started investigations and registered a fraud case against the two accused.
