Yamuna Nagar: In the coming days, people will be warned by the District Police Department to beware of cybercriminals. Yet people easily fall victim to cyber fraud. In one such case, 2 lakh rupees were deducted from the youth’s account by asking OTP. The police have started a procedure against the unknown and started investigations.

Hariom, a resident of the city of Santanagar, said that on May 6 an unknown person called his father’s mobile phone. The stranger told his father that he was talking to his son’s friend. His wife is very ill. He urgently needs ten thousand rupees. According to the accused, his father, who showed humanity, transferred ten thousand rupees to the account he named. Thereafter, the defendant accepted the OTP number by enticement. After some time, he learned that someone had withdrawn two lakh rupees from his father’s joint account. He immediately went to the bank and spoke to the officials. Bank officials sent him to the cyber cell, but no action was taken. He called on the police commissioner to take action against the accused cybercriminals and recover their money. The police commissioner assured the victim that action would be taken on the matter.
