Yamunanagar: Four robbers posing as customers entered the showroom of Yamuna Jewelers in the city’s main market on Wednesday and attempted to commit robbery at gunpoint. Under the pretext of buying jewelry, the perpetrators pointed a pistol at the showroom operator. Director Jitendra Verma showed speed and caught one miscreant while three managed to escape from the spot. During the scuffle, the defendant hit himself in the face with the butt of the pistol. The perpetrators also fired three to four shots in the exhibition room. But the bullet didn’t hit anyone. The police took the arrested accused into custody and began interrogating them. On the other hand, there is an atmosphere of panic among the shopkeepers due to the fire incident.
According to the information, Yamuna Jewelers has a showroom at Yamunanagar Road railway station in the city. Showroom operator Jitendra Verma was present in the showroom with his employees on Wednesday afternoon. Then two miscreants entered the showroom and posed as customers. He started pretending he was buying jewelry in the showroom. Then two more villains entered the showroom. Meanwhile, a miscreant took advantage of the opportunity and pointed a pistol at Jitendra Verma. Jitendra Verma saw the gun and felt something was going to go wrong. So he immediately pounced on the culprit and caught him. To free himself, the perpetrator hit him in the face with the butt of the pistol, injuring Jitendra Verma. Nevertheless, he did not abandon the villain.
Meanwhile, the defendant fired three to four shots in the exhibition room. But fortunately no one was hit by the bullet. One defendant was caught and three defendants fled the scene. It is reported that the number of defendants was six. Four of them were involved in the crime in the exhibition room and two accomplices were outside the exhibition room. The police are busy scanning the CCTV. Police recovered two motorcycles from outside the jeweler’s showroom. Yamunanagar City Police Station SHO Jagdish Chandra and FSL team reached the spot and were busy investigating till evening.
