Woman accused of rape sentenced: 10 years in prison and fine of 85,000 for the accused

Kurukshetra: The judge of the Court of Additional District and Sessions sentenced Ramkaran from Kurukshetra, Chhodpur district to 10 years in prison and a fine of 85,000 rupees for raping a woman. Deputy District Judge Bhupendra Kumar said that in her complaint to Shahbad Police Station, a Punjab woman said that she had learned that there is a tantriker in Chhodpur village near Mohda, who is dealing with the problem of Pitridosh etc. On 14. The accused took her into a room under the pretense of performing a puja and raped her. The tantric said if he told anyone about this he would ruin them. Upon their complaint, a case was registered at Shahbad Police Station and the investigation was handed over to PSI woman Satvinder Kaur. A medical examination of the victim was carried out and statements according to 164 CrPC were made. On March 16, 2019, the accused was arrested and taken to prison by order of the court. The challan of the case was given in court. During the regular hearing of the case before the Fast Track Special Court, the Court of the Additional District and Session Judge, based on witnesses and evidence, sentenced the defendant Ramkaran, who resides in Kurukshetra district of Chhodpur district, to 10 years imprisonment under Section 376 of the IPC and 80,000 rupees Fined, failure to pay fine subject to additional 5 months imprisonment. Sentenced to 1 year imprisonment and a fine of Rs.5000 under Section 506 of the IPC, failure to pay the fine shall result in an additional 3 months imprisonment.
