Road accident in Sonipat: Two days after two Delhi Police inspectors died in an accident in Haryana’s Sonipat, a truck driver was arrested on Thursday. According to Sub-Inspector Katar Singh, the accused Wahid was arrested from Kundli on Thursday. Police said Wahid, a resident of Hapur in Uttar Pradesh, fled to his village after the incident and the truck belonged to his brother. Police arrested him after tracing his whereabouts in Kundli when he returned to Sonipat.
Two inspectors had died
According to police, Dinesh Beniwal, a resident of Dadanpur village in Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar, and Ranbir Chahal, a resident of Narwana, Jind, were working as inspectors with the Delhi Police. Dinesh Beniwal was posted at Haiderpur North West special cell in Delhi while Randhir Chahal was posted at Adarsh Nagar police station in Delhi. Both of them came to Sonipat from Delhi late at night in a venue car. Dinesh Beniwal was driving the car. The driver of the truck in front of him suddenly braked and his car rammed the truck. Both inspectors died as their car was badly damaged in the accident.

The truck driver fled
After receiving information about the incident from Kundli police station, SI Katar Singh along with his team reached the spot and took the bodies into custody. The police took the bodies of both to the civil hospital. The car being torn into pieces can be an indication of the severity of the accident. After the accident, the driver left the truck and fled. The police then swung into action and arrested him from Sonipat on Thursday. The police have now started further measures.
