Traveling on the Jind highway towards Narwana, Gohana, Karnal, Bhiwani became expensive from Saturday. From April 1, the rates of all toll booths in the state were increased, while the toll rates in Khatkar and Ludana in Jind district were also increased by Rs. 5 rupees.

A light personal vehicle used to cost Rs 110 one way on Narwana Road, but from Saturday Rs 115 must be paid as toll tax. At the same time, light commercial vehicles also have to pay Rs 190 as a one-way toll. More than 15,000 vehicles pass through the Khatkar toll daily and the toll management earns more than 12,000 rupees from them. Toll rates are increased every year from April 1st. The toll tax was increased on the Khatkar toll for the third time. More than 15,000 vehicles pass through the Jind-Narwana National Highway daily and more than Rs 12 lakh is collected in toll taxes. Most vehicles driving from Punjab to Delhi pass through Jind as it is a shortcut to the airport instead of National Highway No.1.

It should be noted that a 10-lane toll booth was built near the village of Khatkad on the national road No. 352 from Jind to Narwana Road. Apart from that, tolls were collected near Bans village on Bhiwani road, near Ludana village on Gohana road and near Jalmana before Assandh on Karnal road. There are currently no tolls on the Jind to Kaithal and Barwala routes and on the Panipat routes.

Ludana Toll Plaza’s Jitendra said tolls would increase every year in the new fiscal year. This is why the toll rates were increased again in April. Toll increased by Rs 5 at Ludana toll plaza.
