A massive fire broke out last night in a godown at the Tikri Kalan PVC market, adjacent to the city. In no time the sky in Bahadurgarh was covered with smoke. More than 150 Delhi Fire Department workers are busy putting out the blaze. As of Saturday morning, three dozen fire engines were trying to bring the fire under control. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries in the fire.

A massive fire broke out at Tikri Kalan PVC market next to Bahadurgarh modern industrial area around 1.30am on Friday night. A fire broke out in a pile of plastic kept in a hostel built on a large lot of the market. After the fire, chaos reigned throughout the area. Due to strong winds, the fire also began to spread quickly. In no time the fire spread to other Godowns. Immediately after receiving the information, the fire engines were on site and began extinguishing the fire. Given the extent of the fire, more than 35 vehicles were still busy putting out the fire on Saturday. About 150 firefighters continued to try to extinguish the fire. JCB’s PVC scrap separation exercise also continued to prevent the fire from spreading further. Delhi police officers present at the scene said no casualties had been reported so far.

It is known that there have been major fire incidents in the illegal PVC market before. But the owners of these godowns didn’t take it seriously, nor did the administrators crack down.
