Haryana: The Punjab and Haryana High Court dealt a severe blow to the government regarding the police recruitment process initiated by the Haryana government in 2018. The Supreme Court has canceled the hiring of 5,500 government advertised jobs. Because of this, the appointment of 2,413 candidates has stalled, as out of 5,500 candidates, 3,087 have received the letters of appointment. While the remaining candidates were included in the second list. In such a situation, his appointment got stuck.

The recruitment process was initiated by the government in the Police Department, which started hiring 5500 posts in 2018. After the examination, letters of appointment were also issued to the candidates on the first list, while the second list was not issued. Out of 5500 candidates, 3087 had already received the letters of appeal and are therefore not affected. But the remaining 2413 candidates will not get the post now. In the petition submitted to the Supreme Court, the candidates had stated that the government had published job advertisements for both male and female police officers. After the examination, the whole process was completed, but the government followed the policy of normalization in the appointment. As a result of this government decision, the candidate who received good grades was also removed from the final list.

At the Supreme Court hearing of the petition, Judge Jai Shree Thakur said the letters of appointment will not be issued to anyone other than those who have already received letters of appointment. As in Group D, those candidates who achieved points in the Orphan category at recruitment in 2018 will receive a 5-point benefit. A total of 1054 such candidates are re-examined. The candidates were disappointed by this Supreme Court decision.
