Sonipat: The court held three accused guilty of killing a young man who was walking in the school premises in Shahzadpur village under Sadar police station area by beating him with sharp weapons and sticks. District and Sessions Court Judge Ajay Parashar sentenced the convicted father-son and another person to life imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each on the perpetrators. If the fine is not paid, the perpetrators face additional penalties.
Deepak Sharma, a resident of Shahzadpur village, was walking in the school premises of the village on the night of July 22, 2020. Surendra of the village, his son Dhamu and another person had grabbed Surendra and attacked him. Surendra and another had injured Deepak Sharma by hitting him with sticks and Dhamu with a sharp weapon. Deepak’s brother Amardeep had told police at Sadar police station Sonipat on July 23, 2020 that he was near the ground at the time of the incident. Meanwhile, when he reached the ground after hearing sounds of fighting, he saw Surendra, his son Dhamu and another attacker, who had tied a cloth over his face, beating his brother. When he raised an alarm, they fled from the spot. The defendant’s bicycle was left at the spot. He took his brother injured to the civil hospital. Where the doctor pronounced him dead. Based on Amardeep’s statement, a murder case was registered against accused Surendra, his son Dhamu and another man.
Amardeep had told the police that his brother Deepak Sharma had an argument with Surendra from the village over a small matter a week ago. Surendra then confessed his mistake to his brother Deepak. Little did he know that even after admitting his mistake, the defendant still harbored a grudge against him. Due to this, the incident was carried out. In this case, the team of the then in-charge Sunil Kumar police station had arrested the accused Surendra, his son Anmol alias Dhamu and Ashish alias Ankush from their village. The court had sent the defendant into custody. After hearing the case, ASJ Ajay Parashar court declared all three accused guilty. The court awarded life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 each to all three convicts. If the fine is not paid, the perpetrators face additional prison sentences of six months each.
