Sonipat: 7 out of 63 fertilizer samples failed, department statement

Sonipat: The agriculture department is collecting samples of fertilizers, seeds and medicines from various places in the district and sending them to the laboratory for analysis. The test reports for these samples are now also coming from the laboratory. Recently, the agriculture ministry had collected samples by raiding the shops of medicine and fertilizer sellers at various locations. After receiving the report, seven fertilizer samples were found to be defective. Four drug samples failed. In such a situation, the Ministry of Agriculture has issued a notice against the affected fertilizer and medicine sellers.

We would like to inform you that the Ministry of Agriculture has launched a special crackdown campaign to provide farmers with better quality fertilizers, seeds and medicines. Under this, samples will be collected from the shops of fertilizer, seed, medicine sellers, etc. in different areas of the district and sent to laboratories like Karnal and Rohtak. The department conducted raids at various locations and collected samples of medicines and fertilizers. The department collected 63 fertilizer samples and 71 drug samples and sent them for examination. After receiving reports of 63 fertilizer samples, 7 samples were found to be defective. The department has received reports of 64 out of 71 drug samples. Of these, four samples failed. The department has issued notices to the defaulting vendors. Superior officials were informed of the matter.

Pawan Sharma, district agriculture officer, said four fertilizer samples and one seed sample were found in the samples collected by the department staff. A notice has been served on the affected shop owner. Further measures will then be implemented. Raids are being conducted continuously to ensure that higher quality fertilizers, seeds and medicines are available to farmers.
