Sonipat: The court found the accused guilty of raping a young girl in the city police station area. Additional District and Sessions Court Justice Suruchi Attreja Singh sentenced the convict to 20 years imprisonment. The perpetrator appears to be the girl’s maternal uncle. The perpetrator entered the room, raped the daughter and scared her into silence. When the family members later found out about this, they complained to the police. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 91,000 on the convict. Of the fine, Rs 50,000 was paid to the victim. Even if the fine is not paid, the convicted person faces an additional penalty.

The defendant lives in a rented house

He leaves behind a 17-year-old daughter. Shubham from Sitapur district in Uttar Pradesh, who was apparently his children’s maternal uncle, also lived on rent nearby. Shubham used to take care of tying the rebars for the lantern. He often came to them. His daughter had begun to remain silent for several days. When they asked the daughter, she said that accused Shubham had entered her room on March 4. She was alone at that time. The accused then raped her. I also took obscene photos of her. The defendant threatened that if he told anyone anything, he would spread the photo on social media. Will not entitle her to marry anyone. He will kill him and his family too. She was afraid of his threat.

The defendant continued to commit obscene acts and harass the victim.

The victim’s father said that after this incident, the accused continued to harass his daughter on several occasions and misbehaved with her. Because of this, his daughter began to remain silent. After the victim found out about it, she informed the police. Senior Police Inspector Devendra Kumar’s team swung into action and arrested the accused on May 19, 2023. They took him into custody for a day and collected all the evidence. After this, the challan was presented to the court. After hearing the case, ASJ Suruchi Atreja Singh declared accused Shubham guilty. The court sentenced the perpetrator to 20 years in prison and a fine of Rs 91,000. If the fine is not paid, the convicted person will face an additional prison sentence of 31 months.
