Rewari:A polytechnic student in a village under Thana Sadar is in love with a boy from a neighboring village. Both belong to different castes, so the girl’s family members do not like her love. When the girl’s family members pressured her to end contact with the boy, she went to her lover’s house and began to live. When the girl’s relatives reached the boy’s house to take her back, a fierce fight ensued between the two sides. Many people on both sides were injured. Later, the Sadar Police Station registered a case against 14 people, including her parents and grandparents, for the girl’s testimony. The girl also expressed fears of an honor killing.

The girl told that she is in love with Manish, a resident of Lisana. Talking about marrying Manish while telling her family about love, her family became a threat to her. Because his father was a police officer, he received repeated death threats. When she was forced to cut ties with Manish, she left home and lived in Manish’s house. His family accepted him. The girl claimed that her father recently threatened her by hurling insults over WhatsApp calls. After that, his relatives attacked Manish’s house. An attempt was made to strangle Manish by throwing him to the ground. He himself saved Manish. When the police were called afterwards, his relatives ran away and threatened to kill him. Manish and his family members were injured in this attack. The police began the investigation after registering a case on the girl’s testimony.
Letter to Women’s Commission and Police Officers
In a letter from the DGP to the women’s commission, the girl described the danger to her life from the family and asked for security. In the letter, the girl expressed fears of an honor killing and called for action against her own family members. A copy of the letter was also sent to the SP. Police are looking for the suspect after registering the case.
