Dr. Archana Sharma said she saw an advertisement on Haldiram’s franchisee website. When subsequently contacted on the basis of the numbers provided to him, he received a call on March 23 demanding a Rs 59,000 handling fee, saying that the process of awarding franchisees will be expedited within the current fiscal year should . The caller introduced himself as Pankaj Bhadoria and described himself as a member of Haldiram’s marketing team. He transferred this amount from Google Pay to the numbers he specified.

He then received a mail asking him to deposit Rs 118,500 on behalf of the agreement. If the money was not deposited, it was said to return the previously deposited amount. After that, he was told that the company’s team would be coming to see him soon. 4 lakh and 2.80 lakh rupees were demanded by being caught in his trap which he sent via RTGS. Pankaj Bhadoria’s number went unreachable after paying a total of Rs 8.57 lakh. The police began an investigation after registering the case.
