Hisar: A fire broke out in a PNB ATM near DCM Mill in Millgate area on Monday evening. Two ATMs and a savings account machine in the cabin burned to ashes in the fire. It is reported that the fire broke out due to a short circuit in the air conditioner installed in the cabin. Bank manager Vijay immediately informed the fire department. The fire brigade reached the spot and controlled the fire. But by then the machine had already burned to ashes.

According to the information, there was a sudden short circuit in the air conditioning system installed in the ATM cabin, which caused the cabin to catch fire. Two ATMs kept in the cabin and a savings account machine also caught fire. The bank manager informed the fire department. A fire engine reached the spot but the water pressure could not be maintained. Another vehicle was then called. By this time the fire had already spread to the entire cabin and all three engines had burned to ashes. Bank manager Vijay said that two air conditioners were installed in the ATM cabin. One of these air conditioners was old and one was new. Above all, it appears that the fire was caused by a short circuit in the old air conditioner and the fire subsequently spread to the ATM. Since Sunday and Monday are public holidays, more cash was deposited at both ATMs on Saturday, he said. One ATM was not working due to a technical defect, but there was cash in this ATM. There is an SDM police station near the ATM. DCM mill is also available. For this reason, security guards have not been introduced in the ATM booth. The police are busy investigating the matter.
