Bahadurgarh: A group of peasant women traveling from Punjab to Delhi in support of wrestlers were stopped at the Tikri border. In such a situation, the Delhi Police and the peasants faced each other. There was much scrambling between the farmers and the Delhi police. The group broke through the barricades and entered Delhi. When farmers on the Delhi border staged a sit-in, police hands and feet swelled. The farmers recognized the situation and were given the path to move on.

The BJP MP and national president of the Wrestling Association has been accused of sexual exploitation with female wrestlers. A case against him has been registered with the Delhi Police. Famous wrestlers in the country, along with their supporters, are protesting at Jantar Mantar demanding his arrest. Wrestlers get support from all over the country. Khaps and peasant organizations are reaching Jantar Mantar continuously. The country’s largest farmers’ union (Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugrahan) has also increased its support. A group of hundreds of women farmers linked to the organization reached the Tikri border on Sunday morning. Even before that, the Delhi and Haryana police were on the alert. Barricades were barricaded on both sides of the border. A large contingent of police officers were deployed. Reserve forces were also called up.
