Panipat: The mortal remains of Major Ashish, who was martyred in the encounter with terrorists in Anantnag, Kashmir, were brought from Kashmir to the newly constructed house of Dhaunchak family in TDI, Panipat on Friday. When the family members saw Ashish’s body, they started crying and fell unconscious. Major Ashish had built a new house for his father and mother in TDI. After following the eternal rituals, martyr Major Ashish’s final journey began from his new house to the crematorium in Binjhaul village. Thousands of people including family members, comrades and relatives bid an emotional farewell to martyr Major Ashish Dhaunchak.
More than 20,000 people attended the final journey of martyr Major Ashish and everyone raised slogans: “Martyr Major Ashish remains immortal. As long as the sun and moon exist, Ashish will live in your name, Bharat Mata ki Jai, Pakistan Murdabad.” After a distance of about 14 kilometers, the last journey of martyr Major Ashish ended at the cremation ground of his native village Binjhaul. At the same time, thousands of people on both sides of the road showered the mortal remains of the martyr Major with flowers and paid tribute to him with teary eyes. During the final journey, the mother and sisters paid homage to their son and brother, martyr Major Ashish. While at the cremation ground, the soldiers of the Sikh Regiment saluted their martyr Major Ashish Dhaunchak with rifle shots.

While martyr Major Ashish Dhaunchak’s father, Chaudhary Lal Chand, his mother Kamala, his wife Jyoti, his two-year-old daughter Vamini, his sisters Anju, Suman, Mamta, his uncle Chaudhary Dilawar, his cousin Major Vikas Dhaunchak and family members, relatives, villagers , social workers, public representatives. Thousands of people, including leaders of various parties, bid an emotional farewell.
