Padma Awards 2024: Disabled social worker Gurvinder Singh, a resident of Sirsa district in Haryana, will be honored with Padma Shri. The central government has announced the awarding of Padmashree on Republic Day. President Draupadi Murmu will honor him with Padma Shri at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Gurvinder Singh runs an ashram in the name of Bhai Kanhaiya Lal in Sirsa. In addition, they also offer a free rescue service. Also works continuously for the welfare of homeless, destitute, women, orphans and disabled people. According to the information, more than 300 destitute people live in his ashram.

Social worker Gurvinder Singh also runs a child care organization called Bal Gopal Dham. This organization has fulfilled the dreams of 300 children. Impressed by his commitment and contribution to social causes, the central government has decided to honor him with Padma Shri. Speaking to the media after the announcement of Padmashree’s award, he thanked the central government and expressed his happiness. Gurvinder Singh has also provided free ambulance services to more than 6,000 accident victims and pregnant women. Gurvinder Singh cannot go. He walks in a wheelchair. In fact, he was paralyzed from the waist down after the collision with a truck. Gurvinder Singh dedicated his life after the accident to the welfare of others.

Help the suffering people with a free ambulance

He first started serving humanity by distributing 250 grams of milk to the patients at Sirsa Civil Hospital. After this, many blood donation camps were also organized in Sirsa district. On December 29, 2006, Bhai Kanhaiya Manav Seva Samiti was founded and then expanded. From here he started a free rescue service. He also set up a free counter-school for widows, economically disadvantaged children and children of divorced women. There is no fee for children. In view of Gurvinder Singh’s humanity and charitable spirit, the Central Government has decided to award him Padma Shri.
