Nuh violence News।
Many buildings were attacked
Plaintiff Akil Hussain and others told the Supreme Court that violence occurred in the Mewat region in August 2023. After this violence, the Haryana government targeted many buildings in Mewat area and started razing them. This measure did not even give people the opportunity to be heard. Their building was arbitrarily demolished without the plaintiff being informed in advance.
The petition alleged that he was not given an opportunity to be heard by the administration and was therefore deprived of his accommodation. The demolition of the building has caused financial and emotional loss to the petitioners and their peaceful life has been completely ruined. Citing the Supreme Court’s decision, the petition said that if the structure was demolished illegally, the victim would be entitled to compensation.
The Supreme Court had taken suo motu notice of this
The petitioner said that the Supreme Court last year banned the demolition drive following communal clashes in Nuh after taking cognizance of the matter. Nuh Deputy Commissioner’s response then said that no demolition work had been carried out in the area without following due process.
The names of Goraksh Dal Congress MPs Maman Khan and Monu Manesar have also been linked to this case of violence and arson during the procession in August. Before the Nuh violence, MLA Maman Khan had made a controversial statement in the Assembly on Monu Manesar by linking him to the murder of Nasir Junaid. Even though the police had arrested both of them, the ruling party and the opposition are still targeting each other, linking them to Maman Khan and Monu Manser in the Nuh violence.
