Now, under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthan Mahabhiyan or Kusum Yojana (PM Kusum Yojana), the application deadline for a solar water pump has been extended to May 30th. These solar pumps will be made available to the farmers who have applied for electric tubular wells. The application date for solar water pumps ranging from 1HP to 10HP has now been extended to May 30th. Those who have applied for electric wells by 2021 will get solar water pumps instead of electric wells with a 75 percent subsidy from the government.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Akhil Pilani said applicant farmers can go to the PMkusum.hareda.gov.in website to apply for solar pumps using their electricity department user ID. OTP will be available on the mobile phone at the time of application, so the process of applying for solar water pump online can be completed.
He said those applications could be made by May 30. Most of the farmers had applied to the Electricity Distribution Corporation to install 5hp, 7.5hp and 10hp tube wells. The government will provide them with solar water pumps of the same capacity for a 75 percent subsidy. The cost of a 5 HP solar water pump is 78,000 and 79,000 for surface and submersible pumps, 1,000,000 and 12,000 for 7.5 HP, 37,000 and 1,39,000 for 10 HP. The farmer receives a 75 percent subsidy. The amount can range from 58,500 to 1 lakh 4,000 rupees.
