Mahendragarh. Due to non-signature by DMC, the file worth around Rs 2.5 crore was not tendered for door-to-door garbage collection and garbage disposal in the city, due to which garbage collection was not carried out regularly in the city. ADC Vaishali Singh took charge of DMC a few days ago. Once signed by DMC, the garbage collection tender will be approved. Since there is not enough space for garbage disposal at the garbage disposal center in the modashram, municipal vehicles continue to park outside the center.

We would like to inform you that the municipality has awarded the tender for door-to-door garbage collection in all districts of the city to a private company. The garbage that comes from the city in vehicles is collected at the city’s Dewas Road landfill. The deadline for the private company’s tender expired on April 31st. Due to the expiry of the tender deadline, there will be no regular garbage collection in various parts of the city. Every day, people in the city complain that garbage collection vehicles cannot reach the community. After receiving the complaint, the vehicles will reach the spot the next day to collect the garbage. However, next time it will take five to six days for the vehicles to reach the garbage collection facility.

12 tons of garbage comes out of the city every day

There are 15 wards in Mahendragarh city. Door-to-door garbage collection must be done citywide using 11 vehicles. Of these, the municipality has two tractors and five trucks. The city generates around 12 tons of wet and dry waste every day. Garbage generated in the city is collected at the landfill on Dewas Road, but the deadline of the company that won the door-to-door garbage collection contract has expired. In a city like this there is a lot of dirt everywhere. The company that submitted the garbage collection tender on behalf of the municipality had built a facility at the landfill to recycle the garbage arriving from the city. Around 15 tonnes of waste were recycled every day at this facility. The facility separated polyethylene, plastic and other items from municipal waste. After the waste is separated, it is transported to Ganaur using vehicles. The city’s garbage was dumped in Ganaur. But now there are huge mountains of garbage in the landfill. Due to the rainy season, one has to face many problems as the garbage in the landfills gives off a foul smell.

Garbage collection in the city has become a challenge

There are 15 wards in Mahendragarh city. Last year, door-to-door garbage collection in the city was carried out by six contractors and five municipal trucks. With the private company’s tender completed, it is now a challenge to collect garbage door-to-door in all areas of the city using only five municipal vehicles. All city residents want the first vehicle to reach their street to collect trash. The municipality currently needs 10 vehicles for door-to-door garbage collection.
