Narnaul: From a weather perspective, the next 10 days are quite suitable for wheat sowing, but now the seed crisis in the district is adding to the concerns of farmers. Due to the huge difference between the market price of seeds and the government price, there is a fight among farmers. The company offers a 40 kg bag of DBW-303 wheat seeds at Rs 1,090 while it is available in the market at Rs 1,500-1,700. Farmers’ anger over the seed shortage is growing.

We can inform you that the weather is suitable for sowing wheat this time as the average day and night temperature is around 25 degrees. That’s why farmers suddenly started sowing wheat. It is noteworthy that almost a month has passed since the beginning of the Rabi season in the entire area and most of the farmers have sowed mustard and chickpeas and now the wheat sowing season is underway. Experts say farmers should harvest wheat by November 25. After that, the sowing takes place too late again, which can also affect the yield. This is why these days farmers come to the market to buy wheat seeds. Although different varieties of wheat seeds are available in various seed shops in the market at market prices, many farmers focus on purchasing the seeds provided by Haryana Seed Development Corporation. Wheat seeds have been unavailable at the Seed Corporation shop in Narnaul City for two days and supplies have been exhausted. Now farmers are being told the seeds will arrive on Monday.

Sales points have been set up at three locations in the district

The Haryana Seed Development Corporation has set up outlets at only three places in the district, out of which a seed sales center has been set up on the road near Saini Banquet Hall on Rewari Road in Narnaul. Furthermore, government seed shops are only in Mahendragarh and Kanina Mandi. Satnali Mandi including Ateli and Nangal Chaudhary are deprived of this.

Wheat seeds are available cheaply

Under the government system, the wheat bag issued by the Seed Development Corporation is quite cheap, so farmers find it appropriate to purchase seeds only from the Corporation. For this reason, 2,050 quintals of wheat seeds have been sold so far at Narnaul Sale Point alone. A bag of 40 kg is given at Rs 1,090 while a subsidy of around Rs 450 is given. Now, another truck loaded with seeds is expected to reach Narnaul on Monday. Variants of DBW-303, DBW-327 and DBW-222 are available at this outlet. 19 hundredweights of mustard (80 kg) and 29 grams of mustard were sold at this point of sale.

The cooperative will also sell wheat

The good news for farmers is that the cooperative, which was previously selling DAP and urea fertilizer, will now also sell wheat seeds. Seeds will also be available at the association office in Anaj Mandi from Monday. Here, farmers receive HD-3086 wheat seeds for a subsidy. The company’s managing director Roshan Lal Yadav said the wheat seed truck was only supposed to arrive on Saturday but was now expected on Sunday. Distribution will begin on Monday when the seeds arrive.

Seeds will be available from Monday

Amit Jakhar, salesman of Haryana Seed Development Corporation, said wheat seeds were sold till Thursday. Given the demand from farmers, the demand for wheat seeds has increased. The vehicle is now expected to arrive on Sunday. In such a situation, seeds will be made available to farmers from Monday.
