Haryana Ministry of Higher Education has launched new courses in 37 state colleges for the new 2023-24 academic session, while some courses in five colleges have been suspended. The number of study places was increased at 9 universities and the number of seats was reduced at 7 universities. The additional general secretary of the state has sent a letter to all universities in the state in this regard. Recently, the heads of the state’s public colleges had written a letter to the director of the Department of Higher Education, calling for the introduction of new courses at their respective colleges and an increase in seating in many subjects.

New courses here and there: 3 colleges in Ambala, 2 in Bhiwani, 1 in Charkhidadri, 3 in Faridabad district, 1 in Fatehabad, 1 in Gurugram, 2 in Hisar, 3 in Jhajjar, 2 in Jind, 2 in Karnal, 37 new ones Courses were approved in 1 College by Kurukshetra, 1 by Mahendergarh, 1 by Palwal, 3 by Panchkula, 1 by Panipat, 3 by Bhiwani, 2 by Rohtak, 2 by Sirsa and 3 by Sonipat. This includes subjects from BCA, MCA, MA to Honours.

The number of seats in the colleges in these districts increased

In addition, nine of the state’s colleges have increased their seating. 80 BA in Girls College Ratia, 80 BA in Farukhnagar College, Gurugram, 80 BA in Sector 9 Gurugram College, 20 MCom in Jind College, 20 BCA in Safidon College, BA Punjabi Elective in Ladana Chacko College, Kaithal 40, 20 each in BA Political Science, Geography, History and 10 places in Mathematics at Bastara College, Kaithal, 20 places in BSc Non Medical at Palwal College, Kurukshetra and 20 places in MA Geography at Narnaul College, Mahendergarh have been increased.

These courses have been closed at colleges in 5 counties

In addition, there are 5 colleges in the state, MSC Geography in Narayangarh, Ambala, B.Com in Uklana, Hisar, B.Sc Non Medical, B.Com in Datta, B.Com in Ugalan College and B.Com courses in Sirsa Kalanwali College was also closed for non-admissions.

Seating declined in colleges in these counties

In addition, the number of seats in Julana, Jind, Jhajjars Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar and Sirsa Meethi Surairan, Ellenabad, Kalanwali and Rania colleges has been reduced.

BCA and MA Sanskrit courses start at Fatehabad Girls College

Rajesh Mehta, Rector of the Government Women’s College in Fatehabad, Bhodiyakheda, had recently written a letter to the Director of the Department of Higher Education, encouraging the introduction of MA History, MA Sanskrit and MA Punjabi courses at the Girls College demanded. In the BCA Course Approval Letter for Girls College Fatehabad, 120 places are allocated. In addition, the MA Sanskrit course will also be launched, for which 40 places have been approved.

Studies in National Security and Defense Journalism

Starting this year, subjects such as national and cyber security and defense journalism will also be taught at state colleges. Minister of Higher Education Moolchand Sharma gave detailed information in this regard, saying that for the 2023 academic session, the state government has started postgraduate diploma in national and cyber security at Government College in Shahzadpur in Ambala district and Government College in Kharkhoda in Sonepat district -24 is introduced. In addition, Postgraduate Diploma in Defense Journalism is also conducted in Government College in Kharkhoda and Government College in Jhajjar. Higher Education Minister Moolchand Sharma said the government’s goal is to provide quality education for all students. For this reason, new courses are being set up at universities so that they can pursue a career in new areas. By studying national and cybersecurity and defense journalism, students will be able to learn about cybersecurity and also pursue careers. On the other hand, new courses such as defense journalism will shed light on the challenges facing the country. New courses will bring new employment opportunities to the youth and the country, and the youth will advance.
